– No excuses! this is beneficial to all. βYou should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day, unless youβre too busy; then you should sit for an hourβ
– Find a spot. π‘ It can be a space in your home or garden. Try to use this space as much as possible just for meditation as the brain associate a place with an activity (check out The Power of Sleep to learn more).
– Time for some decoration π€©π Design your space to nourish relaxation. Mine has plants, Himalaya salt lamp, comfy cushions, and essential oils. πͺ πΏ
– Be kind to yourself π Go into meditation practice without expectations. Nothing gets fixed instantly. It takes effort so trust and love the process. π
– Make it a habit! Chose a time and stick to it for a month. Then it will become a habit and your practice will be much easier and require minimal willpower. Why not incorporate meditation in your morning (or evening) ritual? π§π½ββοΈππΌββοΈ
– Wind Down before meditation. Take a few seconds to breath slowly. so breathe the stress away ladies and gentlemen π¬
– Just Chill! Try to avoid moving too much or fidgeting during meditation even if your body (and mind) feels restless.
– Acknowledge thoughts, feelings, and emotion during your meditation. It will make your practice easier than trying to fight these little voices. We all have them donβt worry. π
– Hey Come Back! ππ»ββοΈπ€ππΏββοΈ Even if you don’t feel like it, keep meditating at least for one month straight. Then you will feel the difference and wonβt be able to stop anymore π
– Why not use Apps to help start off? Headspace; Calm; Simple Habitβ¦ Apps offer guided meditation that can really help beginners. They also do short meditation for those who struggle with the focus. Why not start with 3 min and increase to 20 min gradually?
