These 12 easy tips will help you improve your wellbeing this winter:
Get some daily sunlight – go out despite the rain or use a SAD lamp.
Keep moving daily – be active even if you workout at home. There are plenty of YouTube videos to support your journey. (Pamela Reif or MadFit are my favourites)
Keep warm – create a warm home, dress up for winter to avoid being cold and impact your immune system.
Eat healthy especially anti-inflammatory food (turmeric, ginger…) and green vegetables for vitamin C. If you work out, eat lots of lean protein.
Take up a new hobby to improve intellectual and/or social wellbeing. Take a language class, book club, learn an instrument….
Stay in touch with your loved ones – call your family and friends. Make it a commitment by setting up time.
Reach out for help – if you feel overwhelmed, talk to your doctor or a therapist. Practice CBT.
Meditate & reflect daily – make it a habit by setting up time each morning upon waking up. You can use Headspace.
Be aware of your physical health – schedule check up with your doctor. As soon as you feel tired or under the weather take action immediately.
Slow down and recharge – slow things down, take vacation especially in December/January. Ensure you are sleeping well. Sleep is key to your health.
Get ready for the new year – set up a plan for 2024 and goals. Learn here to plan successfully.
Watch comedies and do more of what makes you laugh.
